Will pay more for COA or COT - proof of current certification required.Candidate will be required to participate in an onsite skills assessment prior to offer being made.The Ophthalmic Medical Technician is responsible for collecting and recording ocular and systemic patient histories, visual acuities, BP, IOP, Auto refractions, Manifest Refractions, performing external examinations, and dry-eye testing, as well as disease specific extra testingEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Collecting and recording patient medical historyInstructing patients on post-operative care, medication use, contact lens care and exam expectations.Performing visual acuity testing, auto and Manifest Refractions (measurements for the glasses prescription), tonometry (measuring eye pressure) (Goldmann required)Measuring pupil size and reactivity using PERRLATesting elements of movement (eye muscle function)Performing confrontational visual field testing, pachymetry (Corneal thickness measurement)Performing dry eye testing including Zone Quick and TBUT, Interferometry, brightness acuity testingParticipating in light cleaning of the facilityMaintaining a sanitized environmentPerforming corneal topography, retinal nerve fiber layer measurements, retinal thickness and topography, fluorescein angiography, B-scan ultrasonographyAssisting with contact lens fitting and instructing patients on insertion and removal of contacts.Preparing for and assisting with in-office procedures including consenting patientsAssisting with Lasers or minor proceduresQualifications:Required: Minimal of one year in Ophthalmology or Optometry - supporting OD or MDPreferred: CertificationProficiency with EMR and EHRSkills and Abilities:Superior interpersonal and communications skills.Ability to perform manifest refraction is requiredAbility to perform Goldmann tonometry is required.Ability to effectively multitaskAttentive to detail and accuracy.Benefits:Medical, Dental, VisionCOA/COT Sponsorship and Reimbursement programScrub Reimbursement ProgramPaid Time Off (PTO accrues beginning first day of employment)8 Paid HolidaysCompensation details: 17-20 Hourly WagePI7c046305d88b-25660-35622302
