opening for an Aircraft Lighting Principal Electrical Engineer/Sr.
Principal Electrical Engineer with experience in subsystems design
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our
Vehicle Engineering Organization. These positions are located in
Melbourne, FL.Job Description:
- Develop fighter aircraft lighting requirements based on
military specifications, including exterior and interior lighting,
landing lights, and control compatibility with night vision imaging
systems.
- Layout lighting type, color, intensity, arrangement, and
control with an understanding of installation and electrical power
requirements.
- Responsible engineer activities, including sourcing and/or
managing system/component design and development, trade studies,
layouts, architecture definition support, system test &
verification support, and troubleshooting.
- Facilitate design reviews with key stakeholders to ensure
designs meet requirements.
- Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize multiple
responsibilities, and analyze complex problems to develop
solutions.Basic Qualifications:
- For a Principal Electrical Engineer position, a Bachelor's
degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience in electrical
design of air vehicle systems, OR a Master's degree with 3 years of
experience.
- For a Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer position, a Bachelor's
degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience, OR a Master's
degree with 6 years of experience.
- Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated
government secret clearance, and any required program access.
- Experience with military fighter aircraft lighting
specifications and design.
- Experience with military aircraft subsystem development,
including requirements definition, specification development, and
integration testing.Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-3009
- Knowledge/experience with IR and visible light spectrums
- Previous experience troubleshooting and providing liaison
experience in the lab and AC environmentSalary Range: $95,300 -
$142,900Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000Northrop Grumman
considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers
such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the
candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market
conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
